Earth Within a Time of Change
Mother Earth in Transition portrays the Earth not as something fixed and unchanging, but as a living world continually shaped by immense natural forces. Within the spiritual symbolism of the artwork, Mother Earth is passing through a period of transformation in which familiar structures are being disturbed and the elements themselves appear to be in upheaval.
The imagery moves inward toward the core and outward toward the crust and waters. Fragmentation at the center symbolizes deep change occurring beneath what can be seen on the surface. The shifting crust represents the instability of transition — the breaking apart of an existing form as the Earth moves toward another state. Rising waters add another layer to this transformation, evoking movement, uncertainty, cleansing, and renewal.
This creation does not attempt to predict a specific geological event. Instead, it uses the physical language of Earth — core, crust, water, movement, and elemental force — to contemplate transformation on a planetary scale. Upheaval becomes both disruption and passage: a reminder that profound change can involve the dissolution of what has been familiar before something different can emerge.
